By the year 2025, the city of Rotterdam aims to be 100% climate proof and leading in energy transition. Furthermore, CO2 emission levels are scheduled to be 50% of what emission levels were in 1990. In the years to come, delta cities all over the world will have to adjust to climate change. We are dedicated to a bio-based economy, with projects like Plant One and white biotechnology.
A living lab
Rotterdam is a ‘living lab’ for the utilization and execution of sustainable technologies and developments. This has resulted in the Clean Tech Delta, a New Green Deal project which is a collaboration of trade, industry, education and government to stimulate and implement innovation and clean technology. Our delta metropolis will be an inspiring example for cities all over the world.
